As many of you know one of the key tenets of Reggae In NYC is giving back to the community that has given us so much. This December we headed to Jamaica and connected with Early Childhood Institute at The Church of the Apostles & Prophets. While this building is a church on Sundays, it is a school every other day of the week, that needed our help.
Thanks to the generous donations of our friends, family and reggae fans we were able to bring them over $1,000 in notebooks, pens, pencils, chalk and other basic school supplies to support the young students there. Early childhood education is incredibly important and we are lucky to have so much here in the United States. Each of the teahers at the school volunteers their time without pay and they were very grateful for all that we were able to do. Thanks to everyone who made a donation to make this possible. You can see the smiles on faces in the below photos.
