Monday night saw SOB’s a small club in lower Manhattan graced with the presence of Jah9, up and coming reggae artist on the scene. Her last performance in New York was at Milk River, a tiny restaurant in Brooklyn, and it was nice to see her on the type of stage she deserves at SOBs. Since her last performance in February, Jah9’s recognition has grown, as her 2013 album New Name grew in popularity and her single Avocado was named to the 2015 Reggae Gold compilation album.
Monday, July 27th, Jah9 blessed the stage of local NYC reggae spot SOB’s. For those who have not been there, SOB’s is a great location for music. The venue can hold up to 400 people, but even with only a hundred it has a packed atmosphere that makes you feel like you are witnessing something special. In addition, the small nature of the venue provides that everyone has a front row seat to an intimate performance of some of the greatest reggae acts to grace New York City.
