São Paulo, Brazil- Jah9’s epic 2017 hit “Hardcore” remix featuring Chronixx now has a visual to accompany the raw, powerful tune. The original version featured on her September 2016 album “9” was remixed by reggae marvel Chronixx in March 2017 and later featured on VP Records annual compilation “Reggae Gold 2k17”. Released today, the video comes shortly after Jah9’s mini Brazil tour which wrapped up on January 7th. Prior to that, she completed a brief Northeast American tour with stops in Boston, New York and Vermont.
Deeply mystical, Jah9 has emerged from a chrysalis of poetry, dub and spirit to become a powerful femiNINE energy within a universal grassroots movement of consciousness. Inspired by the open spaces in the instrumental dub of 1970’s Jamaican roots music, Jah9 sings with a voice that belies the dimensions of her physical body, from a soul much older than its current vessel; “reminiscent of that darkly operatic wailer for truth & justice, Nina Simone.” Her philosophy–profoundly spiritual, and her style–Jazz on Dub.
New York, NY- Following the release of her new single “Feel Good”, the first single off her upcoming EP "Feelings" on VP Records, due in January, Jah9 is embarking on a mini North-East Tour beginning this week with stops in Boston, New York and Burlington Vermont. The New York Show at SOB's will feature an opening set by Max Glazer. Tickets are only $20.00 and doors open at 9pm.
"Feel Good”, the Clive Hunt produced song is a feel-good, soulful track that introduces a new sound to the reggae roots and dub songstress. The lyrics “Things that make your body feel good” in the melodic hook puts an emphasis on the notion of self-love and self-care. “We must examine the things we put into our bodies and minds and ensure that they add value and do not take away our strength and peace,” said Jah9 on the meaning of the lyrics.

Greetings one and all,
Give thanks for the gift of life and the guidance of the ancestors on our journey.
It was a joy spending the past weeks on the Chronology North American Tour with Chronixx and the Zinc Fence redemption, sharing music and energy with true reggae lovers. We reflect upon the experience with sincere honor and gratitude, feeling blessed to have shared in this powerful collaboration with our brothers and sisters and to have connected with supporters of the mission. We are truly humbled by the encouragement and love received. For that we also give thanks! More strength to the brothers and sisters still active on the tour which continues across North America.
Record Store Day 2017 has proved to be an outstanding success for VP/Greensleeves. Held on April 22, 2017, the label released two limited press, vinyl only titles that have debuted at number 1 and 2 on the Billboard Reggae Chart for the week ending April 27, 2017. "White Man In Hammersmith Palais 7" EP" took the top position, “Mad Professor Meets Jah9 – In The Midst Of The Storm,” debuted at number 2 on the chart.
"White Man In Hammersmith Palais" is the title from the 1977 song by the punk rock legends The Clash. Inspired by a concert line up that featured Ken Boothe, Dillinger, Leroy Smart and Delroy Wilson, the 7" EP features a hit from each of the four artists, packaged with a replica of the concert's promotional poster. Stores are reporting strong sales of the title which was also featured on the official U.K. Record Store Day site (http://recordstoreday.co.uk/news/posts/2017/record-store-day-2017-releases-revealed/)
